Conically flaring wall with smooth, profile-framed edges. On the wall is the middle of three cartridges with Chest-portraits of the Emperor Leopold I. (1640-1705), whose wife Eleonore Magdalene Therese (1655-1720), as well as their son, the Emperor Joseph I. (1678-1711) in courtly costume, above, respectively; alternating with high-relief sculptural-driven acanthus leaves. Remains of old part of gilding. Gest., City brand, master Matthew I Klingelhöffer (citizens 1674). Approx. weight 90 g. h. 9.5 cm.
From Matthew I Klingelhöffer a few more cups with the Portraits of various rulers are known. This mug was probably made on the occasion of the double coronation of Eleanor to the Empress and of her son Joseph I as king of Germany in the year 1690 in Augsburg.
