Öl auf Leinwand. Genreszene mit Darstellung eines verfallenen Gebäudes vor weiter italienischer Landschaft. Rechts im Vordergrund die Werkstatt eines Hufschmiedes. Daneben rastende Reisende und Pferde. In gekehltem Leistenrahmen des 19. Jhdts. Bildmaß 60 x 76 cm, mit Rahmen 75 x 88 cm.
Dabei Kopie eines s/w Photos mit rückseitiger handschriftlicher Zuschreibung als persönliche Arbeit von Philips Wouwerman, von Dr. Erich von der Benken (1885-1942), damaliger Hauptkonservator der Alten Pinakotek in München, vom 08.07.1929.
Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668), tätig in Haarlem, war einer der vielfältigsten und produktivsten Maler des Goldenen Zeitalters der Niederländischen Malerei. Bekannt für seine Schlachtenbilder, sowie Genre- und Landschaftsmalerei. Er wurde auch besonders für seine Pferdedarstellungen geschätzt. Das Motiv einer Hufschmiede in einem verfallenen Gebäude taucht in seinem Sujet in verschiedenen Variationen häufiger auf. Vergleichbare Gemälde mit diesem Thema befinden sich u.a. in der Sammlung der Wallace Collection in London, dem Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam und im Museum der bildenden Künste in Leipzig.

Oil on canvas. Genre scene depicting a dilapidated building against an expansive Italian landscape. A blacksmith's workshop can be seen to the right in the foreground, next to which travellers and horses at rest. In a 19th-century grooved, moulded frame. Size of the painting 60 x 76, including frame 75 x 88 cm.
Also includes a copy of a black and white photograph with a handwritten note on the back by Dr. Erich von der Benken (1885-1942), former chief curator at the Alte Pinakotek in Munich, dated 8 July 1929, attributing the work to Philips Wouwerman personally.
Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668), active in Haarlem, was one of the most diverse and prolific painters of the Golden Age of Dutch painting. He was known for his battle scenes, along with genre and landscape painting. He was also highly regarded for his representations of horses. The motif of a blacksmith in a ruined building appears frequently in different variations in his oeuvre. Similar paintings depicting this topic can be found in the holdings of the Wallace Collection in London, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Museum of fine arts in Leipzig.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
