Damon RUNYON (1880-1946). Runyon á la Carte. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company, 1944.
First edition, the dedication copy, inscribed to William Randolph Hearst, the inspiration behind legendary film Citizen Kane. Octavo. Original grey cloth, titles and decoration to spine and upper cover stamped in red, top edge stained red (somewhat stained, endpapers with residual ink drip from red stain); original dust-jacket (faintly worn, 3 small closed tears to top edge); housed in blue quarter morocco clamshell box. Provenance: William Randolph Hearst (1863-1951, legendary newspaper magnate and subject of the celebrated film Citizen Kane, authorial presentation inscription to front free endpaper).

First edition, presentation copy. Octavo. Leaves untrimmed (tiny marginal nick to title). Original blue cloth, spine lettered, and upper cover decorated in gilt (soiled and rubbed, spine sunned); original dust-jacket possibly supplied from another copy (lightly rubbed, creases, closed tears and chips along edges most repaired with tape on verso, chip to top edge of lower panel and spine with some textual loss, front flap almost detached). Provenance: ‘Swifty’ (authorial presentation inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1934) — ownership inscription to rear pastedown — unidentified bookplate to front pastedown.

First edition, from the library of racing driver Barney Oldfield. Octavo. Leaves untrimmed. Original cream cloth, spine lettered and upper cover decorated in blue, top edge stained blue (spotting); original dust-jacket (spine sunned, extremities lightly rubbed, large closed tear to foot of backstrip). Provenance: Barney Oldfield (1879-1946; famed pioneering American automobile driver; ownership inscription to front free pastedown).

First edition. Octavo. Frontispiece and illustrations throughout by Josef and Lieutenant-Colonel Frank Wilson. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in silver; original dust-jacket (a few faint marks and creases, spine ends and corners reinforced with tape on verso).

— In Our Town. New York: Creative Age Press, 1946.
First edition. Octavo. 27 illustrations by Garth Williams, leaves untrimmed. Original brown cloth, spine lettered in silver, upper cover with titles and illustration in silver; original dust-jacket (a few tiny nicks and chips to top edge, snowflake sticker to upper flap).

First edition. Octavo. Frontispiece and illustrated throughout by Josef. Original orange boards, spine lettered in black, top edge stained purple (faint mark to upper board); original dust-jacket (lightly rubbed and soiled, dampstain to spine, some creasing and small chip to bottom edge of upper panel).
