With fast, for Dali is typical of kreiselnd vibrating Duktus-out depiction of the two main characters from the famous book by Miguel de Cervantes. The two sheets were created for (or originally of Dali illustrated Cervantes edition of "El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quixote de la Manche integrated into the) publication", published in Buenos Aires by Emecé, 1957. In Dali's Oeuvre, the figure of Don Quixote is a Central motif, both as an Illustrator as well as in individual sheets and graphics to follow, after the Surrealist had been created in 1946 and illustrations for an English Don-Quijote-issue. Blue Ball Pen/Paper. Signed dat "Dali" and "Salvador Dali", a sheet of paper. 1957. 31.5 cm x 22.7 cm-23.2 cm. Frame.
