The outside of the small wooden box entirely veneered in red underlaid tortoiseshell, with a hinged lid and a narrow drawer at the front. Finely engraved mother-of-pearl inlays on the slightly domed lid. A depiction of two putti in the roles of doctor and patient, the doctor holding up a glass of urine. Above which a banner with a Latin inscription "Morbum Noscere Curationis Principium" (Knowing the disease is the first cause of relief). Dimensions 12.1 x 9.4 x 7.4 cm.
It was standard practice in baroque medicine for the doctor to taste the patient's urine in order to make a diagnosis.

Außenseitig vollflächig mit rot unterlegtem Schildpatt furniertes Holzkästchen mit scharniergelagertem Deckel und vorderseitig schmaler Schublade. Auf dem leicht gewölbten Deckel fein gravierte Perlmutteinlagen. Darstellung zweier Putti in der Rolle von Arzt und Patient, der Arzt das Uringlas emporhebend. Darüber Schriftband mit lateinischer Inschrift "Morbum Noscere Curationis Principium" (Die Krankheit kennen ist der Anfang der Genesung). Maße 12,1 x 9,4 x 7,4 cm.
In der barocken Medizin war es üblich, dass der Arzt den Urin des Patienten kostete, um so eine Diagnose zu stellen.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
