Schwere, zweischneidige, spitz zulaufende Klinge mit rautenförmigem Querschnitt. Die konische Fehlschärfe mit beidseitig geschlagener Schmiedemarke "ST" unter Krone. Eisernes Bügelgefäß mit Resten der originalen Brünierung. Originale, seitlich gekehlte Hilze mit feiner Eisendrahtwicklung und Türkenbünden. Ovaler, seitlich leicht gegrateter Knauf. Stellenweise leicht flugrostig, reinigungsbedürftig. Länge 101 cm.
Wolfgang Stantler war Klingenschmied in München aus der bekannten Passauer Schwertfegerfamilie Stantler, die bereits im 15. Jahrhundert nachweisbar ist und dort die berühmten Passauer Wolfsklingen fertigte.
Dieses Modell wurde u.a. von der Münchner Stadtwache geführt. Im Münchner Zeughaus befinden sich noch heute identische Degen in großer Zahl. Weitere Exemplare befinden sich in zahlreichen internationalen Museen, so z.B. im Bayerischen Armeemuseum in Ingolstadt.

Heavy, double-edged, pointed blade of lenticular cross-section. The tapered ricasso with maker's mark "ST" underneath a crown struck on both sides. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with remnants of original bluing. Original grip with fullers on the side, fine iron wire wrap and Turks’ heads. Oval pommel slightly ridged on the side. Slightly rust-coated in parts, in need of cleaning. Length 101 cm.
Wolfgang Stantler, bladesmith in Munich, came from the distinguished swordsmith family Stantler located in Passau, which was recorded there as early as the 15th century and crafted the famous Passau wolf blades.
This model was used, among others, by the Munich city watch. Identical rapiers can still be found in large numbers at the Munich Armoury. Further specimens are on display in numerous international museums, for example the Bavarian Army Museum, Ingolstadt.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
