wood, plant fibre, Ochre, boar tusks. In the complex men's societies of Vanuatu domestic groups, there are
numerous and stepped Nalawan rituals by means of which persons in political and
religious power structures are included. In the celebrated festivities
will be used as such, also Vimpuri-called masks. This here is the
cannibal shows tables Gigantin Nevinbumbaan, on whose shoulders your son or husband Ambat
Malondr rides. The mask is attributed to the Nimangki society and in
various ceremonies needed. Height 43cm, width 50cm, depth: 41cm. Condition B. enclosed: a Small Model of the Asaro Mudmen with removable helmet mask. Clay, Wooden Stick. Papua New Guinea. 20. Century, h. approx. 19cm. Repaired.
