Runde Silberschale mit sieben nach innen vorgewölbten Scheiben, sechs außen und eine in der Mitte, die als Omphalos fungiert. Zwischen den Scheiben im Bogen verlaufende Stengel mit Lotusblüten an den Enden. Oberfläche partiell geringfügig mit Oxyden und Inkrustationen bedeckt. Ein Riss am Rand repariert, ohne Fehlstellen. Durchmesser 19 cm, Höhe 5 cm.
Provenienz: Spanische Privatsammlung, erworben 2021 im englischen Kunsthandel. Zuvor englische Privatsammlung A. H. Vom Vorbesitzer erworben in Paris. Zuvor in seit 1969 zusammengestellter französischer Privatsammlung.
An eastern Greek silver phial with seven discs and lotus decoration, 5th century B.C.
Round silver bowl with seven discs curving inwards, six on the outside and one in the centre, acting as an omphalos. Stems running in an arc between the discs with lotus blossoms at the ends. Surface partially slightly covered with oxides and incrustations. One crack repaired at the rim, without missing parts. Diameter 19 cm, height 5 cm.
Provenance: Spanish private collection, acquired in 2021 in the English art trade. Previously English private collection A. H. Acquired by the previous owner in Paris. Previously in French private collection assembled since 1969.
