Paula Modersohn-Becker ( Dresden 1876 - Worpswede 1907 ) . One of the most important German artists of the Modern era. After first drawing lessons in Bremen, Germany M.-B. continued in 1896, trained at the painting school of the Association of Berlin artists in 1898 she moved to Worpswede, to take in the case of F. Mackensen class. In 1900, she attended together with C. Westhoff, the later Mrs. Rilke, for some time at the Académie Colarossi in Paris. Back in Worpswede, she married, in 1901, O. Modersohn. 1903, 1905 & 1906, she returned to Paris and developed in confrontation with Cezanne & Gauguin your style. After the birth of their daughter in 1907, she died in Worpswede. During her life, she exhibited hardly, soon after her death, but a comprehensive assessment of your epoch-making performance.
