A GOLD AND SILVER INLAID COPPER GROUP OF GANESHA AND SHAKTI - South-India, Nayak-Periode, ca. 17th c. - Ganesha, probably in his manifestation of Mahaganapati, is seated in lalitasana on a lotus base with his rat to its front, his shakti seated on his left upper leg, his ten arms radiating around his body, the hands holding various attributes including the broken-tusk, axe, noose, lotus and one holding his shakti, wearing dhoti fastened around his middle with a belt, bejewelled, pot-bellied, his elephant head displaying a serene expression with ruby-inlaid eyes, curling trunk, one broken tusk, floppy ears, a conical-shaped headdress and a cakra behind his head, his shakti holding a lotus in her left hand while the right is embracing his partner, wearing sari, bejewelled, her face displaying a serene expression with ruby-inlaid eyes and urna and a conical-shaped headdress. - From a South German private collection, acquired prior to 2007- Minor wear, slightly chipped

Ganesha, wahrscheinlich in seiner Manifestation als Mahaganapati, sitzt in lalitasana auf einem Lotossockel mit seiner Ratte an der Vorderseite, seine Shakti sitzt auf seinem linken Oberschenkel- Seine zehn Arme hält er strahlenförmig um seinen Körper herum, die Hände halten verschiedene Attribute, darunter den abgebrochenen Stoßzahn, die Axt, die Schlinge und den Lotos. Er trägt Juwelen und einen Dhoti, den ein Gürtel hält. Sein Elefantenkopf zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck mit rubinbesetzten Augen, gewundenem Rüssel und einem abgebrochenen Stoßzahn. Auf seinem Kopf trägt er einen kegelförmigen Kopfschmuck und ein Cakra hinter seinem Kopf. Seine Shakti hält einen Lotus in ihrer linken Hand, während die rechte seine Partnerin umarmt, sie trägt einen Sari, ist mit Juwelen geschmückt, ihr Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck mit Rubinaugen und Una und einem kegelförmigen Kopfschmuck.
