"The Acceptance of the Inherent Lies in Everything". Originaltitel
Zu einer anderen Version dieses Werks schreibt Hoenerloh: "Der Versuch, eine perspektivische Situation fast ohne Dreiecke und stürzende Linien zu erzeugen, kann nur zur Verwendung frontaler Wände führen. Aber die dann fehlende Liniendynamik muss ersetzt werden, in diesem Fall durch 11 Rundbögen und das Element der Reihung. Zum Titel: Die 1996 von Damien Hirst zersägte Kuh, die auf den Namen: 'Some Comfort gained from the Acceptance of the Inherent lies in Everything' hörte, wurde fälschlicherweise in einem Kunstkatalog als 'The Acceptance of the Inherent lies in Everything' abgedruckt, was nun zu dieser Art von Geschichtsfälschung führt. Wenn genügend oft der falsche Eintrag wiederholt wird, kann er zur Realität werden. Die Reihung der formalingefüllten Glaskästen findet sich als Zitat in den Brückenbögen wieder, aber eine Kuh ist weit und breit nicht zu sehen. So wie im Werk von Damien Hirst das Innere der Kuh sichtbar war, kann man hier ins Innere des Hauses schauen, was sonst in keinem Bild vorkommt.". Ein Initialpunkt für Hoenerlohs fiktive, menschenleere Stadtlandschaften dürfte sein kurzes Studium 1979 bei Peter Ackermann an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste gewesen sein, der bereits zuvor Architekturmotive verfremdet hatte; bereits Mitte der 1980er Jahre fand Hoenerloh zu seinem eigenen, grisailleartigen Stil und Themenkreis, den er seitdem konsequent weitergeht: rein künstlerische, ins Surreale gesteigerte und verfremdete, mystische Stadtarchitekturvisionen, die trotz gewisser Brüche überzeitlich zu sein scheinen. Sie spiegeln seine Vorliebe und Faszination für historische Baustile wider - Palladio, Piranesi, Schinkel, das Berlin des 19. Jhs. und das von Georges-Eugène Haussmann geprägte Pariser Stadtbild.
