TAVERNIER, Jean-Baptiste (1605-1689) - Lotto di 4 opere dedicato a Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, celebre mercante ed esploratore francese che per 40 anni percorse le vie carovaniere che legavano l'Europa all'estremo oriente. Il lotto comprende la seconda edizione della traduzione italiana stampata a Bologna della sua relazione di viaggio che comprende il resoconto sul celebre "Gran-Serraglio" del sultano ottomano.

A lot of 4 works dedicated to Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, the famous French merchant and explorer who traveled through the caravan routes that connected Europe to the Far East for almost 40 years. The lot includes the second edition of the Italian translation printed in Bologna of his travel report with the description of the Topkapi Palace of the Ottoman sultans.
