"Good, you're coming!," he exclaims in a wonderfully effusive letter that takes off on a tangent conflating various biblical tales: "Well I am glad. Even dern glad, as Pontius Pilate used to say. I think it was Pontius; at any rate it was the one that wrote Paradise Lost & was eventually burned by the Church for falling down the mountain & breaking the tables of stone. I never cared for him, although an ancestor. he ought to have known he was in no condition to carry things down a mountain & everybody looking at him."

Clinton, the daughter of the noted New York City architect Charles W. Clinton, first met Clemens in 1907 through Mary Rogers, a mutual friend. Clinton would occasionally visit Clemens at this home in Redding Connecticut, and the pair remained correspondents until Clemens' death in 1910. After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
