Two original black and white publicity portraits, c.1930s, signed by Fats Waller: the first showing the marvellous jazz pianist and composer in snappily dressed smiling pose, inscribed in blue ink ‘To Clarinda, With Best Wishes, “Fats” Waller’, an early image by Fan Foto Co., c.1935, vintage sepia-toned gelatin silver print, 253 x 202 mm; the second featuring a wide-eyed Fats gaping at a film camera during an appearance on the BBC television programme Melody Out Of The Sky, recorded at Alexandra Palace Studios, London, and broadcast on 29 September 1938, the photo inscribed in black ink ‘To Fern:- Best Wishes, Yes! Yes! Yes!!! Sincerely, Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller’, additionally inscribed ‘Ow!!!’ at lower right, vintage gelatin silver print, 205 x 253 mm, in window mount (280 x 356 mm).
[With:] – Boogie Woogie with ‘Fats’ Waller. New York: Mills Music, 1941. First edition piano sheet-music folio, signed in blue ink by Fats Waller on the front cover, wire-stitched in the original brown pictorial wraps, 300 x 230 mm.
[With:] an original table card for the Zanzibar Room, Hollywood, California, c.1940, signed in pencil by Fats Waller below his portrait, 146 x 96 mm. The Zanzibar became the location of Fats’ last ever engagement in December 1943, when he became very ill with influenza and was forced to cancel the rest of his performance, eventually succumbing to his illness in a train compartment en route home to New York on 15 December 1943, at just 39 years old.

Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
