Oil on copper. Half-length portraits of the Roman emperors Augustus, Claudius, Vespasian, and Vitelius, all depicted as commanders with baton. In one upper corner the depiction of a Roman sestertius. Dimension of each portrait 19.5 x 16 cm.
After the famous series of Titian who created eleven frescoes with portraits of Roman emperors for the Duke of Mantua in the years 1536-40. The paintings later came into the possession of the Spanish king and were destroyed in a palace fire in 1734. By that time the portraits had already become known through several copies and etchings published in the 16th and 17th century.

Öl auf Kupfer. Brustbilder der römischen Kaiser Augustus, Claudius, Vespasian und Vitelius, jeweils als Feldherr mit Kommandostab dargestellt. Darüber in einer Ecke jeweils die Wiedergabe eines römischen Sesterzen. Maße je 19,5 x 16 cm.
Nach der bekannten Serie Tizians, der in den Jahren 1536-40 elf Fresken mit Cäsarenportraits für den Herzog von Mantua schuf. Die Gemälde gelangten später in den Besitz des Königs von Spanien, wo sie 1734 beim Brand eines Palastes zerstört wurden. Die Portraits waren aber bereits im 16. und 17. Jhdt. durch zahlreich angefertigte Kopien und Stiche verbreitet worden.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
