Édition originale de cet Art de trancher castillan du XVe siècle. Bel exemplaire en vélin de l’époque.
Descendant des rois d'Aragon et de Castille par sa mère, Enrique de Aragon fut un humaniste, traducteur de Virgile et de Dante. Bon nombre de ses œuvres furent brûlées juste après sa mort sur ordre du roi Jean II de Castille qui le soupçonnait de sorcellerie. Le manuscrit de son Art de trancher, conservé à l'Escurial, survécut à l'autodafé puis aux flammes de l'incendie qui ravagea la bibliothèque en 1761 et fut publié en 1766, près de 350 ans après sa rédaction. Les vingt chapitres de cet ouvrage répertorient l'étiquette princière et les bonnes manières à la cour : origines de l'art de trancher, fonction et formation de l'office, comment couper viandes, volailles, poissons, légumes et fruits. In-4 (198 x 142 mm). Titre dans un encadrement typographique et texte dans un double filet noir. Illustré de 9 bois gravés dans le texte représentant des couteaux, fourchettes et ustensiles (manque le f. blanc Bb4. Quelques piqûres, plus prononcées en début de volume, cahiers B et D légèrement brunis et piqués). Reliure de l’époque : vélin souple, titre et nom de l'auteur manuscrits au dos (petite étiquette moderne avec la date contrecollée en pied du dos).

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
