Hellgrauer Kalkstein mit leichter Alterspatina. Einteilig gearbeitete vollplastische Figur einer liegenden Sphinx. Der weibliche Oberkörper mit langen offenen Haaren und einer Perlenkette dargestellt. Auf dem Rücken eine breite Wasserrinne mit Ablauf aus dem Maul der Sphinx, das Abflussrohr fehlt. Die rechteckige Plinthe unvollständig, bestoßen. Maße 42 x 55 x 26 cm.

A French or Italian water spout in the shape of a sphinx, 16th century
Light grey limestone with slight age patina. Three-dimensional figure of a prone sphinx. The female torso with long flowing hair and pearl necklace. On the back a wide water channel leading to the sphinx’s mouth, the drain pipe missing. The rectangular base incomplete, bumped. Dimensions 42 x 55 x 26 cm.
