Seitlich je zwei nach oben geführte Schwanenhälse mit zurückgebogenem Kopf. Schnabel, Augen und Gefieder fein und gekonnt nachziseliert. Auf der Tülle ein Adlerkopf mit gleichermaßen fein ausgearbeitetem Gefieder, Augen und Schnabel. Sehr schöne grüne Patina mit einigen rötlichen Flecken. Höhe 12,5 cm, Breite auf der Schauseite ca. 17,5 cm. Außergewöhnlich schönes Paar römischer Wagenaufhängungen mit geradezu perfekter Oberfläche in ausgezeichneter Erhaltung.
Provenienz: Aus österreichischer Privatsammlung, erworben in den 1970er Jahren im österreichischen Kunsthandel.
Two Roman bronze chariot body suspensions with eagle and swan heads, 2nd - 3rd century A.D.
Two identical suspensions for a wagon body to cushion shocks made of bronze with figural depictions in fine quality. Octagonal, slightly conical spout with a thick wall and prominent rim reinforcements at the top and bottom. The three facets of the front with floral décor of incised and punched decoration.
On each side two swan necks with bent back head. Beak, eyes and plumage finely and skilfully chiselled. On the spout an eagle's head with equally finely worked plumage, eyes and beak. Very beautiful green patina with some reddish spots. Height 12.5 cm, width on the front approx. 17.5 cm. Exceptionally beautiful pair of Roman wagon suspensions with about perfect surface in excellent condition.
Provenance: From an Austrian private collection, acquired in the 1970s in the Austrian art trade.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
