Lot 4 | Zwei Silberappliken mit Vogeldarstellungen, protoelamitisch, spätes 4. - frühes 3. Jtsd v. Chr.
Eine große Silberblechapplik aus zwei seitlich verlöteten, gewölbten Silberblechen in Gestalt zweier antithetischer Vögel (Tauben?), die Schwänze hinten hochgestellt bzw. eingerollt. Auf beiden Seiten Ritzverzierungen. Auf der Rückseite Streifen mit Winkeln bzw. Schraffur. Auf der Schauseite diverse Motive: kleine Vögel, Blatt mit Stiel, einfache, mäanderähnliche Winkelbänder mit Schraffur. Auf der "Unterseite" eine Lasche für die Befestigung. Breite 12,5 cm. Eine zweite, kleinere, gleichartig konstruierte Applik mit Sternmotiven auf der Schauseite. Auf der Unterseite durch einen Metallstift ein Fortsatz aus zwei nach außen weisenden Vogelköpfen befestigt, zwischen denen eine Lasche für die Befestigung sitzt. Breite 6,3 cm. Höhe 6 cm. Die beiden Teile lose und zusammensteckbar. Zwei attraktive und seltene Beispiele früher Silbertoreutik des vorderen Orients.

A large silver plate applique made of two laterally soldered, curved silver plates in the shape of two antithetic birds (doves?), the tails raised or curled at the back. Incised decorations on both sides. On the reverse side stripes with angles, resp. hatching. Various motifs on the face: small birds, leaf with style, simple meander-like angular bands with hatching. On the "underside" a lug for attachment. Width 12.5 cm.
A second smaller appliqué of similar construction, with star motifs on the face. On the underside, attached by a metal pin, an extension of two bird's heads whitening outwards, between which is a lug for attachment. Width 6.3 cm. Height 6 cm. The two parts loose and attaching together. Two attractive and rare examples of early silver toureutics of the Near East.
