Adolf Seel
Adolf Wolfgang Seel was a German painter of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is known as an architectural painter, a representative of the Düsseldorf school.
Seel was educated at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf and continued his studies in creative travels in Paris, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the northern coast of Africa and the East. His fondness for architectural painting found expression in works in which he masterfully rendered the appearance of Arab and Moorish buildings through the use of perspective, lighting and colors. His famous works include "Inside a Byzantine Church", "The Lion Court of the Alhambra", "The Arab Court in Cairo", "The Egyptian Harem" and others.
