Leberecht Lortet
Leberecht Lortet was a French painter.
A student of Alexandre Calame, he is famous for his landscape paintings, mainly of the Alps. He lived most of his life in and around Lyon (from 1848 to 1861). He devoted his life to painting mountains: snowy peaks, green meadows surrounded by fir trees, and lakes in the shade. His nickname is "the painter of the Alps".
