Matthias Mansen

Matthias Mansen is a German painter and printmaker who lives and works in Berlin.

He studied at the Academy of Art in Karlsruhe, but was drawn more to printmaking than painting. Mansen consistently develops the tradition of woodcuts and creates series of images. For example, fragmentary views of Potsdamer Strasse in Berlin, where the artist lived and worked for many years.
