Nick Lowe
Nick Lowe is a contemporary American artist known for his abstract high color figurative and narrative painting and collage. Within his paintings and drawings, a mosaic of bright colors and shapes combine to create bizarre worlds in which a diverse cast of characters reside culled from various facets of the media and everyday life. His collages feature fragmented shapes that alternate between figuration and abstraction. Inspired by influences as varied as Hieronymus Bosch and Where's Waldo children's books, Lowe incorporates their attention to detail into his own unique narratives. Lowe’s work can be found in the public collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, UCLA Armand Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Thomas J. Watson Library in New York.Date and place of birt: | 1980, San Jose, USA |
