Rudolf Karl Gottfried Geißler
Rudolf Karl Gottfried Geißler was a German draughtsman, etcher and watercolourist.
After his first painting lessons with his father, the painter Peter Carl Geißler, he studied at the Nuremberg Art School from 1851 to 1857 with Albert Christoph Reindel and August von Kreling.
Afterwards he continued his studies at the Dresden art academy under Ludwig Richter. From 1861 he worked in Nuremberg again. Later he was appointed professor at the Nuremberg art school.
Geißler illustrated numerous children's and fairy tale books. From 1867 to 1882 his works appeared in the "Gartenlaube".
