Youqua

Youqua was a Chinese artist who worked in the 1840s and 1870s and opened workshops in Canton and Hong Kong called Yeehing.

These workshops produced paintings with high-quality views of Hong Kong and other Chinese ports. They depict harbors with coastal structures in great detail, with Chinese junks and small tank boats mixed in with Western ships - British, French, and American ships of the mid-19th century. Youqua also painted genre scenes of Chinese life, landscapes and portraits of local people.
