Kurt Krantz
Kurt Krantz is a German artist known for his pencil drawings, watercolours and teaching. He was interested in photography, cinematography and lithography.
From 1925 to 1930 he undertook an apprenticeship as a lithographer in Bielefeld. At the same time he attended evening courses at the local arts and crafts school. In 1930 he joined the Bauhaus Dessau and studied with teachers such as Jost Schmidt, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee.
When it came to art, Kurt Krantz thought in series, groups of forms and variations. Be it paintings, photographs, graphic works or experimental films, he was interested in the endless game of change, the processes of transformation. His experimental education at the Bauhaus had a lasting influence on his development.
