Ludger tom Ring the Younger painted portraits, depictions of animals, and still lifes, often with flowers. The last years of his life he worked in Brunswick. The artist created numerous portraits of representatives of patrician families and clergymen of the city. Some of his works are kept in the Duke Anton-Ulrich Museum of Art in Brunswick, others in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Ludger tom Ring's family was a well-known artistic dynasty; his father and brothers were also artists.
