Nikolai Vasilievich Mescherin
Nikolai Vasilievich Mescherin (Russian: Николай Васильевич Мещерин) was a Russian artist of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He is known as a painter and entrepreneur, co-owner of the Moscow Danilovskaya Manufactory.
Nikolai Mescherin painted mainly landscapes of Central Russia. At the beginning of his career he was under the influence of impressionism, then he was fond of pointillism, invented by French neo-impressionists. The artist created lyrical landscapes in separate strokes in the technique of pastel.
Some of his works are now on display at the Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow.
