Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann was a German painter of the second half of the nineteenth century. He is known as a painter and the father of German artist and professor of painting Ernst Zimmermann.
Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann at the initial stage of creativity actively engaged in portrait painting and became court painter of the Grand Duke of Baden Friedrich I of Baden. Later he switched to genre paintings depicting the daily life of Bavarian and Swabian peasants.
