Anton Doll is a German landscape painter of the Munich School. His famous works include views of his native Munich as well as images of village life near the city, especially winter motifs.
Bernhard (Bernd) Becher and Hilla Becher were German conceptual artists and photographers working as a collaborative duo. They are best known for their extensive series of photographic images, or typologies, of industrial buildings and structures, often organised in grids. As the founders of what has come to be known as the 'Becher school' or the 'Düsseldorf School' they influenced generations of documentary photographers and artists. They have been awarded the Erasmus Prize and the Hasselblad Award.
Joseph Vivien was a French painter from Lyon.
He left Lyon for Paris at the age of twenty and found employment in the large atelier of Charles Le Brun, the equivalent of an academy. He made his reputation with his portraits in pastels, to which he gave a sparkle and immediacy previously unreached in that medium.
