Since 2012 - Member of National Unity of Georgian Artists.Born in 1970, September 7th I was raised in Gori, Georgia. My passion for drawing since childhood has turned into a search path for my whole life. The basics of professionalism were given to me by studying at the M. Tuganov Professional Art School (1984-1984), now occupied by the territory of Georgia, in the city of Tskhinvali (South Ossetian Autonomous Republic). I have been painting professionally for over 30 years. After graduating from college, which also taught me culture, discipline and a certain technique, it was difficult to get out of the technique of academic drawing. This haunted me in my life for another 11 years. All this time I was in shackles, limiting the freedom of my thoughts and creative direction. All this was influenced by the war in South Ossetia, in Abkhazia, which for many centuries of Georgia's existence was a single land for all nations living on the territory of Georgia as one single family.
Trying the technique of drawing in different ways and colors, I managed to free myself from the shackles, radically changing my thinking, method and style of drawing. In 2017, in the composition of some of my paintings on canvas, I added different varieties of wine and watercolors as a background for transparency, quartz sand to obtain a grainy texture, followed by finishing with acrylics. ... Horizontal, vertical lines, roundness and perspective sometimes complement some of my paintings. My paintings are like a calendar of my mood, dreams, feelings, a passion to break free for light, for freedom, which can be seen in the creative process of each of my subsequent paintings. Silently expressing on the canvas step by step what I could not just say in words, thereby leaving the opportunity for any visitor to easily read the meaning of the picture, even with mixed technique and style. Sergiy Poznansky is a citizen of Kiev. He got a degree in technology and electromechanics and later got a cameraman diploma in Kiev National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. In the late 90s, he worked as a photographer in advertising agency "Mc Cann Erickson / Linea 12". Sometime later he opened his own photo studio, and since then he is working on his art independently. He presented some works on the erotic photography exhibition, and also he became a member of the Photobiennale. Also, in 2000, he took part in the international film festival "Молодість" ("Youth") served as a director of photography of documentary film "Стан" ("ANGELUS"- the film won the second place for the best cameraman work).
Today Sergiy Poznansky is a famous film, commercial and music video operator-director and photographer.
In 2016, Sergiy felt the need in changing the digital circulation practice, so he started to work with an old complicated technology of photography – ambrotype.
It took a half of a year to test it all and to prepare prescription reagents, special utensils and devices. This cause a completely unpredictable, unique result. The appearance of every ambrotype is a step-by-step, fascinating and a manual process. The technique of "drawing by the light", using reagents on a glass plate, is unique, therefore excludes any copy.
Ambrotype of Poznansky - a quote from the past, but not literally. The artist has nothing to do with the imitation of antique, but vice versa he is looking for the modern context of old the technology. He ironizes and dramatizes mystical compositions freely. Sergiy demonstrates a contrast between retro practice and circulation, a speed of digit, which limits the depth of the image.
Sergiy's works are kept in domestic and foreign galleries, private collections.

I am a dedicated artist and involved in the current cultural activity, with a dynamic experience, polished in the artistic centers of Chisinau, Cluj, Iasi and Bucharest. Through personal and group exhibitions organized in recent years, I have proposed to the public more and more fresh works connected to the development and the level of contemporary society. Through a pictorial approach built on solid exercises, developed from the formal tradition to formal creation, I have outlined a sensitive message that tenaciously affirms its own artistic creed.
I generally practice abstract painting, sometimes introduce figurative elements. The preferred material is oil or acrylic on canvas or paper.
Painting is an expression of freedom, it is the way to be, it is the moment when time stops, the escape and the connection to the fluid course of some energies becomes the act of appearance and conception of the image.

В создаваемых мною композициях нет изображений видимой реальности, в них передаются ее образы. Такая особенность уподобляет их иконам. Я стараюсь передать сакральное безмолвие жизни. Не только акустическую, но и внутреннюю тишину, наполняющую все вокруг. Вечное Здесь и бесконечное Сейчас – вот два главных героя любых моих картин. В них можно войти, если постараться смолкнуть и забыть всё, о чем знал до настоящего момента. Положительный опыт созерцания этих композиций посылает душе исцеляющий импульс, сила воздействия которого иногда сравнима с церковной службой, глубокой медитацией или успешным визитом к психоаналитику.
In the compositions I create, there are no images of visible reality, they convey its images. This feature likens them to ikons. I try to convey the sacred silence of life. Not only acoustic, but also inner silence that fills everything around. Eternal Here and infinite Now - these are the two main characters of any of my paintings. You can enter them if you try to fall silent and forget everything you knew about until now. The positive experience of contemplating these compositions sends a healing impulse to the soul, the impact of which is sometimes comparable to a church service, deep meditation or a successful visit to a psychoanalyst.
