In her abstract monochrome paintings, Max Cole uses repetitive hatching and other minimal strokes to create a rhythmic image and evoke a sense of infinity. Inspired by the geometric abstractions of Kazimir Malevich, Cole's gray canvases are reminiscent of serene landscapes with distant horizons.
