On his development as man and artist during his studies at the graphic Department of Vitebsk state pedagogical University was influenced by artist and teacher Alexander Soloviev.
After graduating from the University Akulov long years of hard and fruitful work, which had created thousands of paintings and graphic works. Being a curious person and the seeker, the artist has traveled all over the former Soviet Union from Tyumen and Krasnodar Region from the Crimean Koktebel, worked in Germany, Belgium, Italy. Moreover, in Germany, Belgium and the United States have entire cycles of his work. Alexander Glezer, one of the organizers of the famous Moscow "bulldozer" exhibition of 1974, came to Minsk for the author's works for the Museum of modern Russian art in USA (new Jersey), where the artist's work is well represented now.
Vladimir Akulov is the exhibition activities since 1985. In addition to solo exhibitions, the artist takes part in joint exhibitions of modern Belarusian avant-garde art, which are exhibited not only in Belarusian cities, but also in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Munich, Warsaw, Antwerp, new York. the
works of the artist are in the collections of the Museum of modern art in Minsk, the Museum of contemporary Russian art in new York, in the Palace of the Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace in Gomel, Belarus private collections.
