parcel-gilt polychrome enamel; depicting a procession of the gods surrounded by masks and cherubs among strapwork and foliage; the underside with fantastical winged figures and masks; the underside with a paper label inscribed 'Einsatzstab RR / R 3899 / Nr. 556'

Provenance

Baron Édouard de Rothschild (1868-1949), in the Boudoir vert sur la cour, hôtel Saint-Florentin, Paris.

Confiscated from the above by the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg following the Nazi occupation of France in May 1940 (ERR no. R 3899).

Recovered by the Monuments Fine Arts and Archives Section from the Altaussee salt mines, Austria (no. 190/23), and transferred to the Munich Central Collecting Point, 20 June 1945 (MCCP no. 196/23).

Returned to France on 31 July 1946 and restituted to the Rothschild family.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
