ATTRIBUTED TO JEAN-MATHIEU CHEVALLIER, CIRCA 1750

The serpentine brêche d'alep marble top above a fall-front inlaid with sprays of flowers, the surrounding mounts in the form of dragons, branches, leaves and acorns, enclosing a fitted interior with leather-lined writing slope, above two doors enclosing shelves above a waved apron, the back feet tipped, the later lock stamped Fichet Paris, the top stamped indistinctly '...LLIER', one interior drawer with circular label inscribed in ink '150 / Ggvr'
