Rare first edition of De Re Metallica. Illustrated by an extraordinary series of 292 woods, which required over 3 years of work and which, thanks to the high graphic quality and the rich inventiveness of the scenes, gave life to one of the masterpieces of Renaissance woodcut art.

Folio (302 x 204mm). omplete with two woodcut plates, woodcut printer's device on title and at end, initials and numerous full and half-page woodcut illustrations in text (title restored at the margins and with a tear, a reinforced plate, first leaves restored at the edges, some other leaves restored at the lower margin, occasional light spotting and staining). Later vellum, modern marbled paper case (modern endpapers and light wear). Provenance: some early annotations in the margins.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
