La vie de Benoît Leborgne, comte de Boigne, né à Chambéry, est celle, rocambolesque, d’un aventurier. Fils de marchands pelletiers, il s’engage dans l’armée française, comme enseigne. Son statut de Savoyard l’empêchant de monter en grade, il rejoint l’armée du Tsar, et combat les Ottomans. En 1777, il s’engage dans la Compagnie des Indes orientales et met les voiles vers Madras, puis Calcutta. C’est en Inde qu’il fera la majorité de sa carrière militaire : comme d’autres officiers européens, il est recruté par un aristocrate local, Madhava Rao Sindiah (1730-1794). Ce dernier le fait major et lui confie le commandement de plusieurs bataillons d’infanterie. Entre 1784 et 1788, Boigne connaît de nombreux succès militaires, aboutissant notamment à la prise de Delhi par les troupes de Sindiah. Probablement en raison d’une santé sur le déclin, l’officier décide de rentrer en Europe, ayant amassé une fortune colossale, et s’établit en Angleterre pendant une douzaine d’années. En 1807, il retourne à Chambéry où il se consacrera au mécenat jusqu'à sa mort en 1830.
Le présent manuscrit documente, au jour le jour, ses dépenses de bouche : perdrix, poulet, canard, caille, divers poissons, mais aussi vin blanc, y ont fréquemment ses faveurs, ainsi que du pain pour ses chiens.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
