Histoire naturelle du thé de la Chine... à laquelle on a joint un Mémoire sur le thé... et des Notices sur différentes plantes de l’Europe, propices à remplacer le vrai thé ; suivie d’une Notice sur le cachou, le ginseng et l’huile de cajeput. L’ouvrage débute par un panorama de la récolte du thé, des bons et mauvais effets de son usage et d’une description des habitudes en Chine et au Japon. S’ensuivent des “Réflexions sur le thé”, qui évoquent notamment l’usage de la plante par les limonadiers, ainsi que des variétés “du Paraguay”, “de Labrador”, ou “du Cap”. Le lecteur peut ensuite lire une “dissertation sur le Cachou” et en particulier son usage médical et pour la teinture de vêtements ; puis des textes sur le ginseng et l’huile de Cajeput.
