Moses schlägt das Wasser aus dem Felsen
Vielfigurige, szenische, fein gemalte Darstellung der Erzählung aus dem Alten Testament (Exodus 17,3-7). Auf Gottes Befehl schlug Moses Wasser aus dem Felsen, welches den Durst des hebräischen Volkes löschte, das sich in der Wüste auf dem Weg zum gelobten Land befand. Das Werk zeigt eben jenen Moment, in dem Moses das Wunder gerade erst vollbracht hat, wie es der Künstler auf der linken Bildseite im Vordergrund durch die Dürstenden und Erschöpften besonders eindringlich veranschaulicht. Es basiert auf einem berühmten Gemälde Cornelis van Poelenburchs, das er wahrscheinlich 1617-1625 während seines Italienaufenthaltes in Rom und Florenz schuf, wo er durch Adam Elsheimer beeinflusst wurde. Poelenburch, ein Schüler Abraham Bloemaerts, kehrte 1625 nach Utrecht zurück, 1637-1641 wirkte er als Hofmaler König Karl I. von England. Öl/Lwd.; 45,5 cm x 62 cm. Rahmen.
Das lange Francesco Albani zugeschriebene Gemälde des Cornelis van Poelenburch ist seit 1638 im Inventar des Palazzo Pitti in Florenz (bzw. 1774-1928 in den Uffizien) nachweisbar (Inv.-Nr. 1220).

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
