An interesting letter from Pierre Curie to Carl Julius Salomonsen, "the father of Danish bacteriology", written mere weeks before Curie was awarded the Nobel prize. Curie replies to Salomonsen's inquiry regarding radium - the Danish scientist is looking to acquire some, probably to do his own experimentations. A few months later, Salomonsen and G. Dreyer would publish an article about radium and the effects of radiation on blood.
