First edition of the collective work of Giuseppe D'Alessandro published posthumously by his son and dedicated to Charles VI of Austria. The first part is divided into five Books, dealing respectively with riding instructions (Book 1), harnessing (Book 2), types of bit and bridle (Book 3), tournament rules and knight biographies (Book 4) and horse medicine (Book 5). The second part contains the Addition of different Rhymes, Letters, and Treatises on Physics, Painting, & c. and other Exercises, which are the Pietra del Paragone de 'Cavalieri, a large collection of verses and prose entirely inspired by chivalry and fencing. Both parts are richly illustrated with engravings probably designed by the Flemish painter Guglielmo Borremans (1670-1744).

Portrait of Charles VI, numerous engraved illustrations in text (lacking errata and final blank, some tears in text without loss, some early reinforments, the coat of arms of the Di Biase lords at leaf 5s2 is cut out, leaves 5k4 and 5l1 restorated with adhesive paper on the back, some marginal foxing, small worming at the lower margin between s-2a2). Contemporary vellum with title on the spine label, marbled endpapers (some staining and chipping). Provenance: Ex Libris Joseph Alliata de Joanne principis de Buccherio (ownership inscription).

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
