Linde carved. Rich multifigured presentation moving. The body of Christ is taken down from the cross
and in a large linen cloth for a bed. At his feet the body holding on the left
Page, John, to him the three Marys - Mary, Mary Magdalene and Mary Cleophas.
It is located on the heads of Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, and a distributed
another helper. Height 26.5 cm. Condition B.
After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a Disciple of Jesus asked, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus. And Pilate allowed it. So he came and took the body of Jesus. Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then took they the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the Jews is to bury.. But it was in the place where he was crucified a garden and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been laid. Then, they laid Jesus, because of the Rüsttags of the Jews, because the tomb was near.

As a model for this very expressive group, the famous deposition from the cross by Peter Paul Rubens served certainly on the Central part of the altarpiece in the Cathedral of Antwerp. This work of Rubens was built in the years 1610 to 1611
