Fang Jizhong, also known as Xue Nong, is native to Mian County of Shanxi Province In 1946, he began studying under Zhao Wangyun, and devoted his time to artistic creation since. He is proficient in painting scenery, flowers-and-birds, taking inspiration from nature in villages and farms of the northwest. He is one of the important figures in the Chanan school of painting.
