NOTE:
Gan Hanchen, who was initially named Zuofan and styled himself as Pingzong, and the owner of Feiyuan, is a wealthy Cantonese businessman who lived in Shanghai. He was a chief comprador of the Jardine Matheson Company and the owner of the Shanghai Yuyuan, in which he possesses an extensive collection of antiques, paintings, and calligraphy. Gan Hanchen also has a deep friendship with the famous calligrapher Yang Shoujing (1839-1915).
