Exemplaire relié aux armes de Jean-Baptiste Colbert de cet ouvrage sur les premières années du règne de Louis XIV. Premier commis aux affaires étrangères, Jean de La Barde fut ambassadeur en Suisse de 1648 à 1663, renouvellant l'alliance avec l'ensemble du corps helvétique. Grente, Dictionnaire des lettres françaises, le XVIIe siècle, p. 643.

2 vol. in-4 (253 x 188 mm). Édition originale, vignette gravée au titre, bandeaux et lettrines gravés. Reliure d'époque : maroquin rouge aux armes de Jean-Baptiste Colbert (O.H.R., pl. 1296, fer 4), chiffres couronnés de Jean-Baptiste Colbert aux coins, triple filet doré en encadrement, dos à nerfs richement orné doré, dentelle intérieure dorée.

Provenance : exemplaire relié aux armes de Jean-Baptiste Colbert (1619-1683, avec mention manuscrite au titre [Bibliotheca Colbertina, seu, Catalogus librorum bibliothecae..., 1728, n°8846]) ; Abbaye de St-Antoine de Viennois (1738, ex-libris manuscrit au titre, repris au second volume).
