NOTE:
Lou Luohua, also known as Haikong, was a born in Taishan, Guangdong. He was a poet, calligrapher and painter. In 1928, he founded a calligraphy, painting and literature society in Hong Kong, and he presided over many art publications.

NOTE:
Qin Bowei, also known as Ji, is a native of Pudong, Shanghai. Born into a family of Chinese medicine and practitioners, he is a modern Chinese medical practitioner who devoted himself to the education of Chinese medicine and has written extensively on the subject. Under the cultivation of family education, Qin was a fond of literature and medical books since childhood, and he has been involved in many types of works, such as classic texts, history, medical texts, poems and songs. Alongside that, he was also involved in qin, go, calligraphy and paintings, in which his calligraphy and painting are quite impressive.

NOTE:
Miu Guying is a native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, and he was known as multiple things, such as Pusun, Yuli Shanren. Miu was a disciple of Huang Shanshou’s student, and he was an expert in flowers and chrysanthemums, which gave him the title “the expert in chrysanthemum paintings”. Additionally, he was a teacher of Chinese Paintings at Cangsheng Mingzhi University.

Yuan Xilian, courtesy name Zhonglian, was a native of Baoshan, Jiangsu Province. Together with his brothers Yuan Xiluo and Yuan Xitao, they were known as the “Three Yuan brothers of Baoshan”. He went to Japan to study at the Tokyo University of Law and Politics, and returned to China after the Xinhai Revolution to serve as a judge and magistrate in Tianjin. Due to the influence of his friend Li Shutong, he converted to Buddhism and devoted himself to it, alongside painting and calligraphy in his later years. He then founded the Shanghai Calligraphy and Painting society. Yuan Xilian also formed friendships with Li Shutong, Cai Xiaoxiang, Zhang Xiaolou, and Xu Miyuan, and they were known as the “Five Friends at the End of the World”.
