First edition of this treatise on the construction of sundials and on the calculation of astronomical hours by Domenico Luchini, astronomer and gnomonist from Pesaro with the first translation of this famous physics treatise by Noel Regnault designed to entertain the courts.

4to (235 x 170mm). 14 engraved folding plates, numerous illustrations, woodcut initials and headpieces (a few leaves slightly browned, light dampstaining in the upper margin of the first leaves). Contemporary vellum with manuscript title on spine, speckled edges (some staining). Provenance: contemporary erased ownership inscription - A bibliotheca S.
