Mandala der Naro-Dakini TIBET, 17./18. Jahrhundert

Dieses kleine anikonische Mandala ist der Naro-Dakini geweiht. Ihre Keimsilbe befindet sich, stellvertretend für das Abbild der Gottheit, inmitten eines vierblättrigen Lotos, der sich im Zentrum zweier sich überlappender Dreiecke befindet. Das untenliegende nach oben weisende Dreieck versinnbildlicht das männliche Prinzip, das darüberliegende nach unten weisende, das weibliche. In diesem Symbol der Vereinigung der Gegensätze wird die Untrennbarkeit von Methode und Weisheit zum Ausdruck gebracht. Nach Außen wird das Mandala durch ein Feuer der Reinigung begrenzt. Innerhalb des Feuerwalls sind die acht Leichenfelder dargestellt. Auf nächtlichem Schwarz befinden sich acht Stupas umgeben von Friedhofsszenen mit aasfressenden Tieren und Dämonen und meditierenden Yogis die über die Vergänglichkeit des Seins reflektieren. Tempera und Gold auf Baumwollgewebe.
