Superbe exemplaire avec suite, relié par André Mare. Carteret, Illustrés, IV, p. 222 ; Mahé, II, col. 528
In-4 (316 x 228 mm). Tirage limité à 330 exemplaires sur vergé, celui-ci le n°56, nominatif, imprimé pour Olivier Sainsère. Illustré de gravures sur bois originales en couleurs de Maurice Denis, dont 19 grandes compositions, 19 bandeaux introductifs, ainsi que d'autres bandeaux décoratifs, de vignettes et de culs-de-lampe (reports des gravures). Reliée in fine, une suite de 18 bois de Maurice Denis, tirées sur le même papier. Reliure d'André Mare, signée et datée 1919 : vélin ivoire, pyrogravé, peint et vernis, le décor du premier plat figurant Saint Dominique les bras ouverts, sur fond bleu, l'ensemble cintré d'une couronne végétale, le fond repris sur le plat inférieur, dos lisse orné d'une cordelière nouée, couverture illustrée et dos conservés (comme toujours, vernis écaillé et manques par endroits, en particulier au dos).
Provenance : Olivier Sainsère (1852-1923 ; exemplaire nominatif, ex-libris). Avant la suite de gravures est reliée une note autographe signée de l'éditeur, datée de févier 1920 et probablement adressée à Sainsère, indiquant lui envoyer "quelques épreuvres très, très rares pour ajouter à votre exemplaire".

Reliure attribuable à André Mare : vélin ivoire, pyrogravé, peint et vernis, plat suéprieur orné d'une fleur et d'une crois latine, dans un riche encadrement floral, dos orné de fleurs, plat inférieur portant un écu timbré et la devise latine "IN CERTIS UNITAS/IN DUBIIS LIBERTAS/IN OMNIBUS CARITAS", couverture conservée (usures aux mors et quelques frottements).
An attractive set of two bindings by André Mare, carved and painted on vellum. The "Vie de Saint Dominique" includes an additional suite of the Maurice Denis woodcuts.

If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
