Ein maschinengeschriebener, sehr persönlicher Brief von Marlene Dietrich an Orel Mikes (Travestiekünstler und prominenter Schellackplattensammler), datiert 09.01.1978, geschrieben in Paris, der Luftpost-Umschlag gelaufen, hinten mit Adress-Stempel "Mme. M. Dietrich, 12. Av. Montaigne, Paris 8eme". Der Brief: "Lieber Orel Mikes (und Freunde) ... Ich bin sehr froh das Sie mir sagen es gibt noch junge Leute in Deutschland, die mich nicht (unterstrichen) hassen. Ich bin schon Kummer gewöhnt und auch die "Hass-Liebe" ... trotzdem tut sie weh ... Traurig aber wahr! Gott sei Dank bin ich Berlinerin! ... Ich spreche ein gutes Deutsch, viel besser als das "G.I. German", manchmal kommt mir die Sprache wie Chinesisch vor ... Eifersucht ist ein grausames Leiden und ich bin leider in meiner kleinen Welt nicht verschont geblieben ... mit vielen Grüßen", mit Signatur. Dazu eine alte Kopie des Briefes, gelocht. Ein Brief mit persönlichem Einblick in ihr Seelenleben in den 70er Jahren. Selten.
A typewritten, extremely personal letter from Marlene Dietrich to Orel Mikes (drag artist and famous collector of shellac records), dated 09.01.1978, written in Paris, the airmail envelope circulated, her address stamp on the back "Mme. M. Dietrich, 12. Av. Montaigne, Paris 8eme". The letter reads (tr.): "Dear Orel Mikes (and friends) ... I am extremely pleased to hear that there are still young people in Germany who do not hate me (the "not" underlined). I am no stranger to heartache or "love-hate" ... yet it hurts nonetheless ... Sad but true! Thank goodness I am from Berlin! ... I speak proper German, much better than that "G.I. German", the language sometimes sounds Chinese to me ... Jealousy causes cruel suffering and, unfortunately, I have not been spared in my small world ... Best wishes", including her signature. Comes with an old copy of the letter, perforated. A letter with personal insight into her feelings and emotions during the 1970s. A rare find.
